Cheap way of electric hook up

What I have done is bought an extra male and female plug.
Cut the lead leaving a couple of metres inside and run the cable out the vent on the side of the van behind the bumper and fed it to the dummy fog light.
Then just pull the light out and pull out the lead with the female plug and hey presto.
